Changshu SYP Special Glass Co., Ltd. (¡°CSYP¡±) is a joint venture with a total investment of USD 25 million established between Shanghai Yaohua Pilkington Glass Co., Ltd. (¡°SYP¡±) and Glasslink Limited. The company is mainly engaged in the development, production, and sales of low iron rolled glass and provides complete after-sales service.

Located in Changshu Economic Development Zone of Jiangsu Province, the first stage of Changshu SYP Special Glass Co., Ltd. covers an area of about 80 mu. With Yangtze River to the North and Sutong Bridge being built to the west, the company has convenient water and road transportation. It is close to Changshu Port, a national level open port and the Riverside Highway went through the development zone. The company is also well equipped with good supporting facilities of water, electricity and gas. The low iron rolled glass produced by the company was developed by technical experts of SYP with large input. With first level rolling machine from RUREX, continuous tempering furnace and heatsoaking furnace from TAMGLASS, and double edge grinding machine from BAVELLONI introduced, the company can provide a package of products and services from raw glass to downstream tempered products. The key technical and economic indicator of the Company is listed as follows: transmission rate of low iron rolled glass ¡Ý91%, the low iron rolled glass melting capacity 150t/d, net glass ribbon width: 2140mm, thickness 3-10 mm. The output of low iron rolled and tempered products (1st stage) reaches 2 million m2 per annum.

The major investor of the company, Shanghai Yaohua Pilkington Glass Co., Ltd., is a leading glass maker in China. It was founded in November 1983 and became one of the public listed flat glass manufacturers in China with both A and B shares issued to the public.

SYP is a competitive and well performing company with main business covers flat glass, architectural processing and autoglass. Currently SYP can produce 600,000 tons high quality float glass, 15,000,000 m2 architectural processed glass and 800,000 sets of autoglass per annum. SYP passed ISO9001:2000 international certification of SGS in February 2003. In August 2003, SYP became the first one to passed ISO 14001 international certification of SGS in domestic float glass industry.
